Intermediate methods in pharmacoepidemiology 2021
The Danish Society for Pharmacoepidemiology held a one-day course on “Intermediate Methods in Pharmacoepidemiology” on Thursday November 4th, 2021. The course focused on ways to control for confounding including use of propensity scores, through active comparator new user designs, self-controlled design and the use of instrumental variable analysis. The course closed with a lecture on validation methods. We are fortunate that a number of very skilled researchers and excellent lecturers had accepted to teach the course. In below program are slides and video presentations from the presenters who have agreed to share these online.
Course responsible: Lina Mørk, Tea Skaaby and Mette Bliddal

Course in Basic Pharmacoepidemiology 2021
We are happy to offer a free (for members) one-day online course on “Basic Methods in Pharmacoepidemiology”, on May 20th 2021 taught by professor Anton Pottegård, University of Southern Denmark. The course is aimed those new to the world of pharmacoepidemiology, such as pre-graduate research year students, newly initiated research assistants or PhD students, as well as those working within the field of drug safety but not directly with pharmacoepidemiology, e.g., data managers or people working with pharmacovigilance. The course focuses on study design, measures of association and sources of errors (See programme below). Please share this offer to anyone in your group that might benefit. To register, please send an email to info@dsfe.dk, no later than May 1st.

Course in Advance Pharmacoepidemiology 2019
Two-day course: advanced methods in pharmacoepidemiology.
The Danish Society for Pharmacoepidemiology is offering a new two-day course on “Advanced Methods in Pharmacoepidemiology”. The course was organized by Anton Pottegård (University of Southern Denmark) and Klaus Kaae Andersen (Danish Cancer Society).
The course focuses on both the design and analytical aspects of pharmacoepidemiological studies. This includes methods for quantifying drug utilizations and a discussion of the most common statistical models used in assessing risk and benefits associated with drug use. We also discuss common methods for confounder control, including propensity score modelling, and present methods for assessing validity of studies. Finally, an overview of common study designs is presented and discussed.
All presentations and recordings are now available below.
